Italia: Richieste di condanna al processo per l’operazione “Panico”

Il 16 luglio 2019 i pubblici ministeri Focardi e Giunti hanno esposto le richieste di condanna nei confronti di 39 imputati nel processo per l’operazione “Panico” contro gli anarchici fiorentini. Il processo è frutto dell’unione di più procedimenti penali, tra cui quello legato all’operazione “Panico” del 31 gennaio 2017 (che comportò tre arresti domiciliari, alcune restrizioni e perquisizioni con l’accusa principale di “associazione a delinquere”) e l’operazione repressiva del 3 agosto 2017, che comportò otto arresti, perquisizioni e lo sgombero dell’occupazione La Riottosa, a Firenze, con le accuse (per gli otto anarchici arrestati) di aver compiuto un attacco esplosivo contro la libreria “Il Bargello” (Firenze, 1° gennaio 2017), spazio legato a fascisti e al partito fascista Casapound, azione durante cui rimase gravemente ferito un poliziotto artificiere che perse parte di una mano e un occhio, e un attacco incendiario contro una caserma dei carabinieri nel quartiere di Rovezzano (Firenze, 21 aprile 2016).

Le pene più elevate sono state richieste per gli anarchici accusati dell’azione del 1° gennaio 2017. Sono stati richiesti 11 anni per Giovanni, 10 anni e 6 mesi per Paska, 10 anni per Salvatore (Ghespe) e sempre 10 anni per Nicola. I primi tre compagni da giugno 2019 si trovano agli arresti domiciliari. Tra i vari reati sono accusati di “tentato omicidio”, “fabbricazione e porto di esplosivi” e “danneggiamento”.

Inoltre sono state richieste condanne in riferimento ad alcune altre azioni e innumerevoli altri fatti accaduti a Firenze fino al 2017. Le richieste di condanna sono per 35 persone e vanno dai 15 giorni ai 7 anni. Le accuse sono di “danneggiamento”, “violenza”, “resistenza e minaccia a pubblico ufficiale”, “lesioni”, “imbrattamento”, “fabbricazione e porto di esplosivi”, “detenzione di artifici pirotecnici” e “rifiuto di fornire le generalità”.

La sentenza è prevista per il 22 luglio, ma potrebbe slittare di una settimana circa.

Italy: Sentencing requests at the trial for the “Panico” operation

On July 16, 2019, the prosecutors Focardi and Giunti exposed requests for conviction against 39 defendants in the trial for the “Panico” operation against the Florentine anarchists. The trial is the result of the union of several proceedings, including the one linked to the “Panico” repressive operation of January 31st, 2017 (which involved three house arrest, some restrictions and searches with the main accusation of “criminal association”) and the repressive operation of August 3rd, 2017, which involved eight arrests, searches and the eviction of La Riottosa occupation, in Florence, with accusations (for the eight anarchists arrested) of having carried out an explosive attack against “Il Bargello” bookstore (Florence, January 1st, 2017), a space linked to fascists and the fascist party “Casapound”, an action during which a policeman was seriously injured and lost part of a hand and an eye, and an arson attack on a carabinieri station in the neighborhood of Rovezzano (Florence, April 21st, 2016).

The highest sentences were requested for the anarchists accused of the action of January 1st, 2017. The sentences requested are: 11 years for Giovanni, 10 years and 6 months for Paska, 10 years for Salvatore (Ghespe) and always 10 years for Nicola. The first three comrades from June 2019 are under house arrest. Among the various crimes they are accused of “attempted murder”, “manufacture and carriage of explosives” and “damage”.

Furthermore, convictions have been requested in reference to some other actions and countless other events that took place in Florence until 2017. Sentencing requests are for 35 people and range from 15 days to 7 years. The accusations are of “damage”, “violence”, “resistance and threat to public official”, “injuries”, “fouling”, “manufacture and carriage of explosives”, “possession of pyrotechnic devices” and “refusal to provide general information”.

The sentence is scheduled for July 22nd, but could be delayed for about a week.
