Chillán, Cile: Un ordigno esplosivo posto nella sede della polizia cilena è stato disattivato poche ore prima dell’arrivo del presidente Piñera (20/08/2019)

Durante le prime ore del 20 agosto 2019, a Chillán, un oggetto sospetto attira l’attenzione del dispositivo di sicurezza attuato in attesa della visita del presidente Sebastián Piñera.

Fuori dalla principale caserma investigativa della PDI (“Policía de Investigaciones de Chile”, che assieme ai Carabineros de Chile è uno dei due corpi di polizia dello Stato cileno), situata in via Vega de Saldías, e che confina con un quartier generale della polizia posto nel centro di Chillán, un ordigno esplosivo è stato depositato senza inizialmente destare sospetti.

Dopo qualche tempo la polizia riesce a rilevare l’ordigno, composto da un estintore riempito con un chilo di polvere nera e attivato da un sistema ad orologeria che apparentemente non avrebbe funzionato o sarebbe stato disattivato dalla polizia.

Il personale del GOPE (“Grupo de Operaciones Policiales Especiales”, parte dei Carabineros de Chile) e vari dipartimenti di polizia si sono rapidamente recati sul posto per esaminare le telecamere e l’ordigno.

Il ministro dell’interno cileno, Andrés Chadwick, ha sottolineato alla stampa: “un ordigno esplosivo è stato effettivamente collocato in un quartier generale della polizia investigativa ed è stato rilevato in tempo e quindi disattivato […], non sono ancora stato in grado di conoscere i risultati delle perizie degli esperti […], quale grandezza o potere potesse avere, sto aspettando le perizie degli esperti per formarmi un’idea”.

Finora nessun gruppo avrebbe rivendicato la collocazione dell’ordigno esplosivo.

Chillán, Chile: An explosive device at the headquarters of the Chilean police was deactivated a few hours before the arrival of President Piñera (August 20, 2019)

During the early hours of August 20, 2019, in Chillán, a suspicious object attracted the attention of the security device implemented pending the visit of President Sebastián Piñera.

After some time the police succeed in detecting the bomb, composed of a fire extinguisher filled with a kilo of black powder and activated by a clockwork system that apparently would not have worked or would have been deactivated by the police.

The staff of the GOPE (“Grupo de Operaciones Policiales Especiales”, part of the Carabineros de Chile) and various police departments quickly went to the site to examine the cameras and the device.

The Chilean Interior Minister, Andrés Chadwick, said to the press: “an explosive device was actually placed in a headquarters of the investigative police and was detected in time and then deactivated […], I have not yet been in able to know the results of the experts’ appraisals […], what greatness or power could have, I am waiting for the expert opinions to form an idea”.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the location of the explosive device.
