Al G8 c’eravamo tutti

Chi di noi ha partecipato alle iniziative contro il G8 di Genova, prima, durante, dopo di esso, in solidarietà con i compagni e le compagne arrestati/e e condannati/e ad un gran numero di anni di carcere, si è sentito stringere ancora una volta lo stomaco dopo l’arresto di Vincenzo Vecchi, compagno anarchico latitante in Francia da 7 anni a causa della condanna ad 11 anni e mezzo di carcere per i reati di devastazione e saccheggio. Questo arresto, avvenuto in Francia dove Vincenzo vive e lavora e dove, adesso, è in carcere, è stato reso possibile dalla peculiarità degli organi della repressione nonché dalla loro tracotanza nello spiare i legami sentimentali di ognuno di noi. Noi che, come Vincenzo, siamo onorati di aver partecipato da donne e uomini liberi a un’azione radicale collettiva, senza nessuna struttura egemone al di sopra di noi e con noi centinaia di migliaia di persone a fianco (dalla dichiarazione letta da Vincenzo durante il processo).

Altri, più giovani, ad una ventina di anni e qualche migliaia di chilometri di distanza, hanno evidentemente raccolto i frutti di quella semina, come di altre. Grande mobilitazione, in Francia, contro l’arresto di Vincenzo e la sua estradizione, sia davanti al tribunale, durante l’udienza, che altrove. Per ora la richiesta di estradizione fatta dall’Italia non è stata eseguita. Perfino i giudici francesi hanno perplessità per come si sono svolti i processi agli arrestati per quel G8, processi che hanno visto una decina di persone pagare per tutte (mentre, ovviamente, i funzionari di polizia responsabili delle torture sono stati promossi). Vincenzo aveva visto giusto. Disse, tra l’altro, in aula: “Con quell’enorme esperimento a cielo aperto fatto su Genova […] è stato posto uno spartiacque temporale: niente più sarebbe stato come prima, né nelle piazze né tanto meno nei processi a seguito di eventuali disordini. Si apre la strada a un modus operandi che diventerà prassi naturale in casi simili, cioè colpire nel mucchio dei manifestanti per intimorire chiunque si azzardi a partecipare a cortei, marce, dimostrazioni”.

E dal DASPO per i tifosi a quello urbano per tutti i poveri, dal Decreto Minniti a quello sicurezza bis – forti del sostegno di stampa e tv asservite, nonché del controllo tecnologico e della condizione di schiavitù sul lavoro per facchini, rider, operatori di call center e nere schiene, piegate e senza nome, a raccogliere frutta e verdura – i governi che si sono succeduti hanno, di fatto, azzerato ogni possibilità di manifestazione, picchetto, presidio: si può essere condannati fino a 12 anni carcere. Le aggravanti di associazione sovversiva e finalità di terrorismo vengono adesso indicate per ogni arresto compiuto fra gli appartenenti ai movimenti rivoluzionari, detenuti da subito nei braccetti di alta sorveglianza o in regime di carcere duro.

All’inasprimento di questi ultimi anni si è giunti dopo gli arresti e le condanne definitive, sino a 12 anni, per il G8 di Genova [2001]: dal 2013 è ancora detenuto Jimmy nel carcere di Rebibbia mentre altri e altre sono sempre sottoposti a misure restrittive della libertà. Ricordiamo che gli ultimi arrestati (e ancora in attesa di giudizio) nelle operazioni che hanno visto lo sgombero dell’Asilo di Torino, piuttosto che in Trentino o nella cosiddetta “Prometeo”, come i compagni e le compagne già condannati in via definitiva in altre “operazioni”, sono detenuti in “Alta Sorveglianza 2” oppure in carceri a regime di 41bis con l’applicazione di sado-democratiche misure quali l’isolamento, l’impossibilità di ricevere libri, i processi in video conferenza ed altro.

At G8 we were all there

Those of us who participated in the initiatives against the G8 in Genoa, first, during, after it, in solidarity with the arrested comrades arrested and sentenced to a large number of years in prison, felt a tightening again the stomach turns after the arrest of Vincenzo Vecchi, an anarchist comrade who has been a fugitive in France for 7 years due to the sentence to 11 and a half years in prison for the crimes of devastation and looting. This arrest, which occurred in France where Vincenzo lives and works and where he is now in prison, was made possible by the peculiarity of the organs of repression as well as by their arrogance in spying on the sentimental bonds of each of us. We who, like Vincenzo, are honored to have participated as free women and men in a radical collective action, without any hegemonic structure above us and with us hundreds of thousands of people alongside (from the statement read by Vincenzo during the process).

Others, more younger, about twenty years after and a few thousand kilometers away, have evidently reaped the fruits of that sowing, like others. Great mobilization in France against the arrest of Vincenzo and his extradition, both before the court, during the hearing, and elsewhere. For now the extradition request made by Italy has not been executed. Even the French judges have doubts about how the trials of those arrested for that G8 took place, trials that saw a dozen people pay for all (while, of course, the police officers responsible for the torture were promoted). Vincenzo had seen it right. He said, among other things, in the courtroom: “With that enormous open-air experiment done on Genoa […] a temporal watershed was placed: nothing more would have been like before, neither in the squares nor much less in the trials in following any unrest. The way is open to a modus operandi that will become a natural practice in similar cases, that is, to hit the crowd of demonstrators to intimidate anyone who dares to take part in marches, marches, demonstrations”.

And from DASPO for the fans to the urban one for all the poor, from the Minniti Decree [2017] to the security one [“Decreto sicurezza bis” of the ex-minister of the interior Salvini, 2019] – strong of subservient press and TV support, as well as technological control and the condition of slavery at work for porters, riders, call operators center and black backs, folded and nameless, to collect fruit and vegetables – the successive governments have, in fact, cleared all possibility of demonstration, picket, garrison: you can be sentenced up to 12 years in prison. The aggravating circumstances of “subversive association” and the “purpose of terrorism” are now indicated for every arrest made between members of the revolutionary movements, immediately detained in high surveillance sections or in rigorous imprisonement.

The tightening of recent years has come after arrests and final sentences, up to 12 years, for the G8 in Genoa [2001]: since 2013, Jimmy is still detained in the Rebibbia prison while others are still subjected to restrictive measures of the freedom. We recall that the last ones arrested (and still awaiting trial) in the operations that saw the eviction of the Asilo Occupato in Turin [“Scintilla” operation, february 7th, 2019], rather than in Trentino [“Renata” operation, february 19th] or in the so-called “Prometheus” operation [May 21st], like the comrades already definitively sentenced in others “operations” are held in “High Surveillance 2” [“Alta Sorveglianza 2”, sections for imprisoned anarchists and communists] or in prisons under 41bis with the application of sado-democratic measures such as isolation, the impossibility of receiving books, video-conference processes and more.
