Grecia: L’anarchico Giannis Michailidis è evaso dal carcere di Tyrintha
L’anarchico prigioniero Giannis Michailidis [talvolta il nome è riportato come Yannis e il cognome come Mihailidis] è fuggito pochi giorni fa dalla cosiddetta prigione rurale di Tyrintha (Tirinto), in Peloponneso. Era stato arrestato il 1° febbraio 2013 a seguito della doppia rapina avvenuta a Velventos (regione di Kozani, in Grecia), insieme agli anarchici Nikos Romanos, Dimitris Politis e Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos (per gli stessi fatti il 30 aprile 2013 vennero arrestati anche gli anarchici latitanti Argyris Dalios, Foivos Harisis, Giannis Naxakis e Grigoris Sarafoudis – non tutti sono stati condannati per le rapine). Il compagno, prima di evadere, stava scontando una condanna di 16 anni e 4 mesi imposta con la sentenza che ha fatto seguito al processo riguardo i fatti di Velventos. Inoltre, nel 2015 è stato condannato a 15 anni per delle accuse legate ad attacco contro la polizia avvenuto il 18 maggio 2011 a Pefki, durante un controllo (furono feriti due poliziotti e l’anarchico Theofilos Mavropoulos, a sua volta ferito, venne arrestato). Giannis è noto anche come “l’arciere di Syntagma” da quando, a febbraio 2011, nel corso dei disordini verificatisi durante uno sciopero generale, venne arrestato per avere colpito con arco e frecce la polizia antisommossa che proteggeva il parlamento greco in piazza Syntagma, ad Atene.
Le forze dell’ordine, secondo la stampa, starebbero già indagando su cosa è successo.

Greece: The anarchist Giannis Michailidis has escaped from Tyrintha prison
The anarchist prisoner Giannis Michailidis [sometimes the name is reported as Yannis and the surname as Mihailidis] escaped a few days ago from the so-called rural prison of Tyrintha (Tiryns), in Peloponnese. He was arrested on 1 February 2013 following the double robbery that took place in Velventos (Kozani region, in Greece), along with the anarchists Nikos Romanos, Dimitris Politis and Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos (for the same facts on 30 April 2013 were also arrested the fugitives anarchists Argyris Dalios, Fivos Harisis, Giannis Naxakis and Grigoris Sarafoudis — not all of them were convicted of robberies). The comrade, before the escape, was serving a sentence of 16 years and 4 months, imposed with the sentence that followed the trial regarding the facts of Velventos. Furthermore, in 2015 he was sentenced to 15 years for charges linked to an attack on the police on May 18, 2011, in Pefki, during a police check (two policemen were wounded and the anarchist Theofilos Mavropoulos was arrested, wounded as well). Giannis is also known as “the archer of Syntagma” since, in February 2011, in the clashes during a general strike, he was arrested for hitting the riot police that protected the Greek parliament in Syntagma Square (Athens) with a bow and arrow.
The police, according to the press, are already investigating the incident.
